New SkyTouch customer Cobblestone Hotels implements the SkyTouch Hotel OS property management system to expand operational capabilities

Phoenix, Arizona (PRWEB) December 16, 2014

SkyTouch Technology, provider of the most widely used cloud-based property management system (PMS) platform for hotels, is pleased to announce that Cobblestone Hotels, franchisors of Cobblestone Inn and Suites and Boarders Inn and Suites, has selected the SkyTouch Hotel OS platform for use in its properties. Designed by and for hospitality professionals, the fully-integrated property, rate, and distribution management system provides the operational capabilities, guest-service features, staff management options, and information report choices that hoteliers need to help them operate a more successful and profitable hotel.

The shift toward cloud computing in hospitality
Cloud computing technology is transforming the hotel property management function in a myriad of beneficial ways. By migrating their PMS to the cloud, hotel companies such as Cobblestone can help reduce costs, streamline processes, and improve efficiencies. Hoteliers eliminate the need for expensive and outdated hardware and instead use the Internet to access key data with speed and flexibility. Unlike physical servers, which are housed on-site and can be vulnerable to security threats, cloud providers oversee the physical security of servers from an offsite location, handling vulnerability management, penetration testing, automatic backup capabilities, and 24/7/365 data and systems monitoring. With cloud-based platforms, hotels can be run from anywhere, on virtually any mobile device. Users gain easy and secure access to hotel information from smart phones and tablets, allowing them to stay on top of business functions in real time, manage more efficiently and maximize profitability.

Cobblestone Hotels and SkyTouch aligned for growth
Since opening its first property in 2008, Cobblestone is now considered to be the leading franchise company in growth within the upper mid-scale segment. Similarly, the SkyTouch Hotel OS platform is the most widely used cloud PMS in the industry, serving more than 5,700 hotels and more than 58,000 users around the globe. With 51 hotels currently open, Cobblestone’s aggressive growth plans include 13 Cobblestone properties under construction and 50 more under development in 13 states. Cobblestone has already implemented the SkyTouch Hotel OS system into all of its new hotels since October and will begin implementation into existing franchise properties in the first quarter of 2015. The SkyTouch Hotel OS platform is engineered to grow in scalability and features, with the ability to customize and evolve key functions in order to meet the expanding needs of Cobblestone and other high-growth customers.

“Our main goal at Cobblestone is to offer value to our franchisees—and that means we need to bring them solutions that help them drive revenue and increase efficiency,” says Brian Wogernese, CEO of Cobblestone Hotels. “To be successful in today’s market, it is imperative to seek out emerging technology solutions with a proven track record. In selecting SkyTouch, we’ve picked a long-term cloud PMS partner whose system has the functionality and capability to evolve along with our rapidly changing needs. This is particularly essential given the aggressive growth plans we have in place and our need to provide franchisees with one superior solution to help them manage their properties better and smarter.”

“SkyTouch is well-positioned to meet the needs of a fast-growing, forward-looking company like Cobblestone,” said Shane Platt, VP of Sales at SkyTouch Technology. “We are able to meet their custom needs today, providing significant advantages in the total cost of ownership that positively impacts their bottom line. And, with our industry-leading security, system performance, reliability, and our innovative approach, we’re able to stay one step ahead of the needs they may not yet have but will in the future.”
